TraSCH – Privacy policy

Mobile application TraSCH (Android, package cz.sportchallenge.trasch) for tracking participants of events timed by Sportchallenge. Effective from 26 October 2026.

1. Who processes the data

   1. Developer of the application and data processor: Ing. Jan Kolaja, Ph.D., ID No. 75181916, Czech Republic (Sportchallenge).
   2. Data controller: the organizer of the event you take part in, as with the registration on Sportchallenge.cz (see Personal data protection).

2. What data the application processes

   1. Location (precise and approximate): latitude, longitude, altitude, accuracy and time of measurement. It is collected only after you switch tracking on in the application (“Prepare tracking”). While tracking is on, a permanent notification is shown and the location is sent also with the screen locked (the phone in your pocket), until you finish, withdraw, stop tracking or sign out. Before your start the location is sent rarely and with lower accuracy.
   2. Battery level and charging status of the phone, sent with each location (so the organizer knows whose phone is about to run out).
   3. Data from your event registration: bib number, name, start group and start time; date of birth is used only for the age rule below. The organizer also sees the phone number and emergency contact you entered at registration.
   4. Your choice of who can see your location (organizer only / public anonymously / public with name); it is stored with your Sportchallenge profile and applies to all your events.
   5. A sign-in link from the organizer; the server stores only its hash. The application does not use any analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services and does not collect contacts, photos or other data.

3. Purpose

   The safety of participants (the organizer knows where you are, who has withdrawn, whose signal was lost) and, if you agree, showing your position to family and fans on the event map. The data is not used for marketing or advertising and is not sold.

4. Who can see your location

   1. The organizer of the event (persons with an organizer link) – always.
   2. The public on the event map in the application and on Sportchallenge.cz – only if you choose so: anonymously (a dot without name) or with bib number and name. You can change the choice at any time in the application settings; the change applies immediately.
   3. Participants under 15 years (on the day of the event) are never shown publicly, only to the organizer; consent for a child is given by the parent who registered them.
   4. The data is not shared with any other third party.

5. Service providers

   1. Location is determined by the Android location services of the phone (Google Play services), according to the phone settings.
   2. Map backgrounds come from OpenStreetMap; when a map is displayed, the phone or browser downloads map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers (they see the IP address of the device, not your tracked location).
   3. The data is stored on the server of Sportchallenge.cz and transferred over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

6. Retention

   Locations, battery data and sign-in links are deleted automatically 2 days after the end of the event. Signing out deletes the data from the phone (including locations not yet sent). Your choice of visibility is kept with your profile under the general personal data rules of Sportchallenge.cz.

7. Your rights

   1. You can stop tracking or sign out at any time in the application, and change who can see your location.
   2. You have the right to access, correct and delete your data and to withdraw consent (GDPR).
